Many thousands of people have served at Skivvy 9 over the years. Although it is highly unlikely that we'll ever know all that served, here is one compilation of some that did. Several folks have sent in their expanded personal stories, memoirs, and other information. That type of information can be found under the Memoirs Section.
The directory below contains the information of only a few people. You can search by entering any part or all of a name.

Personal Story
Submitted by: AlNichols, Bill
I was stationed at Skivvy Nine from May '72 – June '73. Enjoyed my time there, except for my case of 'mono' which put me in the hospital for Thanksgiving of '72. I was with Dog Flight and a proud ditty bopper!! I checked out the map today and found the hill, but can't locate the old barracks or ready room – guess they're long gone now. And the 'hill' sure has 'grown' as well. But wasn't there a 'K' no. associated with that hill… I don't recall it being K-170. Later fellow cryppies!! Bill Nichols, Sgt. USAF, 1970-1979.
Payne, Larry
I was there in 1977 to 1978 — one of the last security cops there before main base cops took over. My first duty station. I was there with "Stan the cop."

Msgt - Retired from USAFSS in 1985.rnI was a 202 arriving in Skivvy 9 in January 1977 for a one year tour. I made E-6 while there . . I worked in the aisle with headset walking back and forth between the X1 racks and calling in plots to the plotter up front. I had about 5 airmen working for me during that tour. It was a great mission and exciting on many occasions. We worked closely with the U-2 reps and had a tour of the aircraft one time and was allowed to sit in the cockpit. Amazing. My flight commander was Lt. Kevin Willey. I also worked with 203, Pete Siegle before he left to be commissioned. He was a great guy.. It was sad not having my family there but overall, mission wise, one of my best tours.

Whaley, William (Bill)
1973 to 1974, Sgt 291X0, CommCenter/Crypto Operator. Enjoyed "EVERY" minute there. Arrived there as A1C. First day myself and another went to the village, uniform required,. We were told NOT to salute any officers while in the village. We were window shopping and along comes a Captain. We said hello and he lit into us for not saluting. He chewed us out royally. Got our unit information and when he saw it was 6903rd he snorted "Skivvy 9" and said, "I should have known". Next fay 1st Sgt called is in, we told the story, he said while we were there to salute anything with brass, whether in uniform or not. I made it a point to salute that Captain whether we were on base, in uniform or not, inside or outside!rn
